An Atmosphere for Learning

Imagine a CME course where there are just a few other participants besides you, where you are seated in a comfortable and luxurious private conference room, where everyone addresses each other by name, where you can ask questions at any time and even have the instructor go back over a concept for you. You can get up and help yourself to some complimentary refreshments whenever you want and, should you need to leave the room for whatever reason, you know you will be updated on what you missed when you return. There are breaks every hour but should you and the other participants want to pursue something a bit further before breaking - you can! Casual atmosphere, comfortable and luxurious surroundings, spontaneity and flexibility. This is what a CME course should be!

At Medicus of Houston, we strive to make your educational experience an enjoyable and memorable one. There are no large auditoriums or convention halls, no instructors that are unapproachable or unavailable as soon as the class is over.

Welcome to the Rolls-Royce of advanced ECG courses as a former participant described us. You will have the same instructor throughout the course and you will participate in the interpretation of complex ECGs - during the class - while the instructor guides and assists you with the significant findings. No other course challenges you with such active participation - up to 14 hours of ECG interpretation. In addition to didactic lectures, there are also animations and videos included in our presentations. With Medicus of Houston, you are always a participant and never just an audience!

A Truly Advanced Curriculum

All our scheduled courses are advanced. Participants should already have at least an intermediate level of skill in reading and interpreting 12-lead ECGs and should have been reading them for at least two years. The only time spent on the “basics” is in clearing up some frequent misconceptions. Click HERE to view the four-day curriculum.

Class Materials

To make certain that each student has the materials needed to properly read and interpret the 12-lead ECGs, we provide a large program manual that includes not only the notes for the individual lectures but several extra manuals as well: a laddergram manual (the only one of its kind), a wide-complex tachycardia manual and a pacemaker manual. In addition, you receive a set of ECG calipers, a 3.3X magnifying lens and a straight-edge strip for aligning deflections on the ECG tracing.

CME Credit

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essential areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and Medicus of Houston. The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston designates this live activity for a maximum of 28.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

An International Phenomenon

Since our inception in 2011, Medicus of Houston has become recognized throughout the world for the quality of our teaching, the advanced nature of the subject matter, the open access to our instructors and the relaxed, individual atmosphere created by our small class size. In addition to our clients from the United States, we have welcomed participants from Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. We look forward to welcoming even more international colleagues in 2017!

Visa Requirements

If you would like to attend one of our boot camps, you will need a valid visa before enrolling in the course. The visa requirements do change from time to time and without notice. If you do not need a visa to enter the country where the boot camp is being presented, then you will have no problems.
